Level 3 - First Aid at Work Refresher (FAWR)
FIRST AID at WORK REFRESHER The First Aid at Work Requalification training course updates the first aid skills of those who need to renew their First Aid at Work certificate. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) strongly recommends that you requalify within a month of your certificate expiring.
Description
Renewal Process for a First Aid at Work Certificate
To renew a First Aid at Work certificate, candidates must re-qualify by being assessed against all learning outcomes and assessment criteria for the qualification. The delivery time can be adjusted based on current HSE guidance for requalification (2 days). It is considered appropriate to reduce the time by 6 hours (now 12 hours) for requalification.
Prerequisites
Certificate Duration and Re-qualification
For all First Aid qualifications, the date of certification is based on the achievement of the final unit and the validity will be three years from date of achievement. Candidates must re-qualify before the expiry date of their existing qualification.
Candidates who hold a First Aid at Work qualification can choose to renew their certification by participating in a First Aid at Work renewal course and assessment. To renew their qualification, candidates must provide proof that their current certification is still valid.
At the time of registration, you will need to provide a photocopy of your original certificate. Pentagon Training will retain this for audit purposes.
Candidates who fail to requalify prior to the expiry date of their existing certificate, may requalify by successfully completing a two-day First Aid at Work (FAWR) requalification course within 28 days following their qualification expiry certificate date. Candidates are not permitted to act as a first aider until they have requalified.
