Confined Space Entry Awareness (Theory)
The training program will provide delegates with comprehensive instruction on the precise protocols to adhere to prior to, during, and subsequent to working within a confined space. Participants will gain an understanding of the pertinent regulations, as well as learn how to conduct tests to ensure that gas and oxygen levels are conducive to entry into such spaces.
Description
The course is theoretical. Delegates will be required to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding by completing a multi-choice question paper.
Course Contents
By the end of this training programme, delegates will be able to:
- Understand the relevant regulations governing working in confined spaces
- Recognize exposure limits, types of gases that may be encountered, and necessary precautions
- Identify hazards related to entering, working in, and exiting a confined space
- Implement safe systems of work when working within confined spaces
- Recognize and understand confined space permits, gas test certificates, and task risk assessments
- Understand confined space control measures and their implementation
- Understand different types of communication methods used in confined spaces
- Carry out testing and monitoring of atmospheres
- Use different types of equipment correctly in a confined space
- Familiarize themselves with equipment used for confined space rescue
- Understand different types of breathing apparatus used for working in confined spaces
- Know the correct measures to be taken in the event of a confined space emergency
