Dangerous Goods By Sea (IMDG) 2 days

The Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Sea course is designed to equip delegates with previous dangerous goods training or experience with the knowledge required to prepare a shipment of dangerous goods for sea transport in compliance with the IMDG code.

Description

The Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Sea course is designed to equip delegates with previous dangerous goods training or experience with the knowledge required to prepare a shipment of dangerous goods for sea transport in compliance with the IMDG code.

By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

• Classify dangerous goods

• Correctly package dangerous goods for transport

• Correctly mark and label a package

• Complete a dangerous goods note

As of 1st January 2010, it is mandatory that refresher training is undertaken to take into account changes in regulations and practice. There will be an exam on the second afternoon; successful candidates will receive a certificate.

Prerequisites

Previous dangerous goods training or experience with the knowledge required to prepare a shipment of dangerous goods for sea transport in compliance with the IMDG code.

When you send, carry or receive dangerous goods by road, rail or inland waterway, above a certain load size, and it is your main activity, you must appoint a Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser (DGSA). The above rule applies to shippers, hauliers, consignors, carriers, packers, fillers, loaders and unloaders of dangerous goods.
